Тема: “Halloween”
Мета:
навчальна: познайомити учнів з традиціями святкування,
формувати навички спілкування за темою,
розвивальна: розвивати творче мислення, вміння працювати в групі,
виховна: виховувати зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань.
Обладнання: мультимедійний проектор, презентація, відео, аудіо, зображення привидів, два гарбуза, скелети з бумаги (розрізані), гральний кубик, дві столових ложки, два м’ячика для пінг-понгу, два рулони туалетного паперу.
Хід заходу
Зала прикрашена гірляндами з черепів, малюнками із зображеннями відьм, привидів, ліхтариками з гарбузів. Учитель одразу ділить клас на дві команди.
І. Привітання і повідомлення теми.
Teacher. Hello, dear guests and pupils! It’s nice to see you today. Can you tell me why do we here? Look at the screen and give the answer.

Teacher. What holiday do we celebrate? Yes, you are right. It is Halloween.
ІІ. Основна частина заходу.
Teacher. Halloween began as an ancient Celtic festival in Great Britain and Ireland, and has survived most strongly among Irish, Scottish and Welsh communities. Immigrants from these communities carried the tradition to North America where it has gained in popularity. In turn, as part of American pop culture, Halloween has spread in popularity to most corners of the English speaking western world, and increasingly into Western Europe in recent times. Originally Halloween was a pagan festival, around the idea of linking the living with the dead, when contact became possible between the spirits and the physical world, and magical things were more likely to happen. Like most pagan festivals, long ago it was absorbed into the festivals of the expanding Christian church, and became associated with All Hallows Day, or All Saints Day, which eventually fell on November 1 under the Gregorian calendar. A vigil for the festival was held on All Hallows Evening on October 31. In the vernacular of the times, All Hallows Evening became Hallowe'en and later the Halloween we know today.

The main Halloween activity for children is trick-or-treating. They dress in costumes and masks and go from door to door saying “trick or treat”. Do you know any Halloween rhyme?

The neighbors give children such treats as candy, fruit and pennies so that children do not play tricks on them.
Pupil 2. Jack-o-lanterns are pumpkins with face carved into one side. An Irish legend says that Jack-o-lanterns are named after the man called Jack. He could not enter the hell because he had played jokes on devil. As a result, Jack has to walk on the Earth with his lantern until Judgment Day.

Your next mission is named “Collect the Skeleton”. You must make the skeleton faster than your opponents. Each team throws the dice to get the number. If you have 6 – you get the skull, if you have 5 – body, if you have 3 or 4 – you get the leg and if you have 1 or 2 – you will get arm. If you have the same part of the skeleton, you miss your turn. Oh, you’re so active! Can you draw a pumpkin? Let’s see what team will draw the best pumpkin. (Представники з кожної команди малюють ліхтарик на гарбузі, бал отримує та команда, чий ліхтарик, на думку журі, найстрашніший.)

Pupils, I have heard some noise, it’s a witch. I have got her eyes and she wants to take them back. Don’t let her do that. Run away! Quickly!
Кожна команда стає ланцюжком один за одним, перший бере в руки ложку, кладе в неї м’ячик (око відьми) і оббігає, наприклад, стіл, що стоїть в кінці кімнати, передає ложку з м’ячиком наступному гравцю команди. Учні мають робити це швидко, але обережно, щоб м’ячик не впав на підлогу. Перемагає та команда, члени якої перші виконають цю естафету.
